Changed Engine Now I Have A Code problem
I have a 2000 S40 and just installed a 2002 S40 engine, engine only has 26,000 miles and runs great, very smooth.
Have a problem, getting code # P0335 & coolant temp sensor, is there any way to clear these codes? (Tried clearing but the codes return)
I am being told that the only engine that can be installed in this car has to be from a 2000 S40.
My car VIN numbers 6th & 7th digits are 25, the engine I have from the 2002 is VIN 29 which I believe should be compatible.
Volvo dealership is telling me there is no way to make this engine work in this car
Is there anybody that can confirm if I wasted my money installing this engine?
If the code is re-appearing then there is a problem. Is your temperature gauge functioning? It sounds to me like the sensor is not hooked up, its also possible that the thermostat is sticking (this will sometimes set the code you are receiving) Do you have access to a computer from a 2002 S40? The wiring for the temperature sensor may be different, or the 2002 may have used a different sensor giving the 2000 computer a reading that it does not like.
you can get the program of the bcm for the 2002 and mach it to your bcm of 2000
Check out 30forty50.com - they specialize in C30's, S40's and the like. Do a search and find out more info - sounds like compatiblity issues beyond my knowledge.
sounds like ecu and motor are not compatible but new thermostat could be a good idea
