no start sounds like timing chain does anything else act like timing chain?

Asked by Nov 12, 2012 at 05:37 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Express G3500 Passenger Van Extended

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1 Answer

years ago timing chains were common in gm cars that has changed unless the van has been abused I doubt that the chain has jumped . An easy test is to do a compression check. If it is low or zero then that is your problem but if your compression is 110+ then look elsewhere if chain has jumped that is an interference engine and it would bend valves
