About 2022 Chevrolet Express
The Chevrolet Express is a full-size passenger van that seats between 12 and 15 occupants. It’s been around since the early 1990s, with updates here and there in the intervening years. The 2022 model year brings no changes of note. Chevrolet offers the Express in half-ton (2500) and three-quarter-ton (3500) guises. Available on the three-quarter ton option is an extended wheelbase, which you’ll need to select in order to get the maximum 15-passenger seating. The Express’s standard engine is a 4.3-liter V6 with 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque, backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can upgrade to a turbocharged 2.8-liter inline-four diesel with 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, with that same eight-speed automatic. Finally, there’s a 6.6-liter gasoline V8 that puts out 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque, and that engine gets its own heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission. All Express vans are rear-wheel drive (RWD). The base LS trim comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, hill-start assist, daytime running lamps, stability controls, power windows, an AM/FM stereo, air conditioning, and power door locks. A CD player, six-way power front seats, a tilt steering wheel, power exterior mirrors, an engine-block heater, cruise control, remote start, and heavy-duty trailering equipment are among the options. Safety-wise, the Express comes with just a rearview camera and a complement of airbags. Blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning are extra-cost features.
