why alternator won't hold charge

An alternator produced a charge for the battery and doesn't hold a charge. That's the batteries job. Use your multimeter and set it for voltage. The battery should be above 12V with the engine off and around 14V with the engine on if the alternator is working properly.


it is possible for the alternator to put out voltage but not enough amps, have your complete system checked.
