Put a fork in it , it's done . You can fix the pan but the ticking won't go away and will probably get worse and turn into a knock . That's one hell of a bump were you out 4 wheelin'
Most likely did internal engine damage, the problem with warning lights is when they turn on its already too late.
The good news is that the car's twenty years old; the bad news is that it's not going to get any older.... Any sounds emanating from an engine compartment are cause to stop everything to prevent potential, further damage. In your case the ticking sound was caused by oil leaking; I'm surprised you didn't have a solid oil light then. By the time the oil light flashed, oil was gone and damage to bearings and other things had already occurred..... The car was worth three grand; now it's worth $500 when you get it to a salvage yard.

Don't start the car again, change the oil pan and the fill with oil and replace the oil filter. The ticking could be just from low oil level. You might be ok IMO and have done minimal damage. Up to you if you want to take the chance.
