Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Do I need to reprogramme  and also register the battery if I put in a new battery

No reprogram but you may need to reset your clock and radio settings. Registering the battery should be dome where you buy it ,, if you want a warranty

Tom's right, the Battery in your car doesn't need to be registered or programmed to the battery management system in your car like the newer models do. For the X5 it was model year 2007 and up that requires it.
