My database doesn't show that procedure, I'd have to look at vehicle. You can try youtube, see if they have a video? In their search box type in, water pump removal 99 cavalier, see what they have. i've already looked, i saw at least one video. that's all I know. goodluck

If you don't know how get a mechanic to repair it for you. Screwing it up will only cost you more money.

This is a pretty involved job. The timing belt cover needs to be removed as the water pump is driven by the timing belt. When replacing the water pump the timing belt should be replaced as well. Not a job for a beginner, in my opinion! Hope that helps! Jim

A repair manual is crucial for something like this (Haynes, Chiltons, Mitchells), you'll get the process and torque specs needed. But I also agree with the two gents above, replacing water pumps is much more involved than the old days, take it to a shop, you'll come out ahead.
