Going dead shortlly after starting

Asked by JCtaurus Jan 16, 2017 at 04:23 PM about the 1989 Toyota Camry LE V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Toyota sometimes goes dead & has to be constantly restarted after it sits awhile. After several attempts, it finally stays running. A friend of mine said it may be the idle control valve. Or it might be something in the fuel line or fuel filter. It doesn't do it anymore after you start driving it.

Sounds like you are describing an engine STALLING problem. A faulty idle control could certainly be the cause. Any warning lights On?
