Question type: Maintenance & Repair

All Data points the location near or around the emissions control box inside the hood. The dealer points the location in the dashboard, passenger side by the air bag, another dealer claims to be under the dashboard passenger side.
Can anyone explain how to identify and locate this module?

If it is a US car - MB did not have auto daytime driving lights even as late as 2007 SL's. Canada cars are different. On later SL models you need to go into light settings and set it for "Constant" - that will automate it. Otherwise you will need to manually turn them on every time you drive.

Here's an update Mark, the SLs in general were built for the US market then some shipped to Canada. The DRL module is added locally, it is located behind the dashboard SRS passenger side mounted on the body. FYI, the defective module also fluctuates the intensity of the dashboard lights this is just in case somebody faces this issue, the damage was caused by a warn our regulator. So a word to the wise, change the regulator at about 150,000 miles, better yet change the alternator that comes with a new regulator. Best of luck Paul
