how do you check transmission on 2000 cavalier

You have to get it on a rack and there is a plug underneath that you have to remove and once it is removed check to see if fluid is comeing out of hole if not put fluid in from the top until fluid comes out of plug hole then put plug back in ...That was GM answer to make the car lighter take away the dip stick tube and the dip stick ....So who is the dipstick now ????
