The oil pressure in my car is.fine until it
warms up then it drops this is at idle speed.
Has you raise the rpms the oil pressure
returns to normal. Then let it go back to idle
speed pressure drops. Mean while it has a
little knock as the oil pressure is low and
quits.as.rpms rasie. What can cause this ?
Your lower end bearings are worn causing a bigger gap between the bearing and the crankshaft, thus causing play and a knock. Oil pressure increases with rpm, spins faster pushing more oil to fill the void at the time.
How do I change them ? Where is it located ?
If you do not know anything on this, it is a technical job requiring special tools, and a knowledge of rebuilding an engine. The crankshaft is inside the engine which drives the pistons in each cylinder. If you want to try putting in a high volume oil pump, you may get a few more miles out of it. Best to have someone who knows motors to listen to it to advise you on what to do. I can't hear the engine from here.
Thanks alot I know.a little helps to have the right tools
