hard to start
Will not start but if i shoot starter fluid in starts right up and runs ok. Any one know
what might be the issue?
Check air filter and clean throttle body add Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner to gas tank.
Check for a vacuum leak as well...
Sounds like a dying fuel pump. Try this, turn the ignition on but don't try to start it. Count to 5 then turn off the ignition now try to start it. If it fires right up, the fuel system is losing pressure due to a bad check valve in the fuel pump assembly. By cycling the key before you start it you're actually pressurizing the fuel system. My '03 S-10 Pick Up has been doing that for several years. HTH. -Jim
Thanks for all the help, I got a loaner fuel pressure gauge from auto zone and check the pressure was only getting 49 psi which is below the requirement to start, so we replaced the fuel pump, starts like a new car now. again thanks for the support from all of you.
Awesome!! Thanks for letting us know. Glad to help. Very glad you're back on the road! -Jim
