94 s10 4.3 wont start

Asked by GuruLG2BZ May 07, 2019 at 05:40 AM about the 1994 Chevrolet S-10 LS LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Plugs wires cap fuel battery and alternator are all good.  
Truck spins over but wont start.  Sometimes when I crank it  
makes a whining sound like fly wheel maybe.

Does it have spark? Pull a plug wire and test. If not, you have an ignition system problem. Does it have fuel? Starting fluid is the easiest way to check (remove air filter and spray a bit in to see if it starts). Does it have timing or compression?
