93 s10 won't hold charge

Asked by Chistian Jul 12, 2017 at 06:26 AM about the 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 93 s10 4.3 and it won't hold a charge. The
alternator is fairly new, and the battery is brand
new as of last week. I have checked fuses and
wiring from alternator to the battery and it seemed
fine. Need help ASAP. Thank you in advance.

I had the identical problem, brand new battery, I installed a brand new alternator and the battery would not hold a charge enough to start it... especially when it was hot after starting cold and driving for a bit. I replaced the starter and bang!!! Starts every time, battery holds a full charge and have not looked back.
