Passenger Power Window not working. All other windows work

Asked by Guru93K8BL Apr 01, 2023 at 06:06 PM about the 2006 Honda CR-V SE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The passenger side window will go down but not up. The motor has been
tested and is working. The switch has been replaced with the same results. All
other window work.

Things should be tested before you replace them , all electrical connections should be clean and tight . A multi meter is useful for trouble shooting electrical problems ,

Power window motors are reversible. You have 2 power wires plugged into the motor and the motor is grounded to the chassis simply by being bolted on. So, with a 12 volt DC test light, unplug the wires from the motor. Clip the wire for your test light to anything metal that's not painted. Put the probe of your test light into one of the terminals from the disconnected motor plug and push the window switch in both directions. The light should come on. Now do the same thing with the other terminal. If both terminals make the test light come on the motor is bad or the window regulator is binding and not letting the window move. If your test light does not come on, unplug the switch and test the wires at the switch the same way you did at the motor. You should have power at one of the terminals. If you don't, check the wiring going from the body of the vehicle to the door. You probably have a broken wire there from the door being opened and closed over the years. Hope that helps! Jim

Still sounds like a bad switch, the switch just reverses polarity to make the motor run either direction.
