Try to find the fuse and check to see if it's blown. You'll have to look up the fuse box location and diagram online. If the fuse is good put your ear on the door panel and have someone else work the switch. If this switch is working, you will hear the motor for the regulator working even if the glass doesn't move. If you don't hear anything it's probably the switch. Shouldn't be more than $200-$300 to fix. Look online for the window switch, it's a simple repair, I would assume you can get it installed for under $100, parts $100-$200

I could hear the motor sound when I switch on the engine ignition ( when the radio switches on). Would this mean the switch works, and may be the regulator is out? I took it up for a diagnostics, was told the regulator is out and parts cost is about 400 bucks for front passenger window.
