My daughter just bought a 2000 CRV with 214,000 miles. It seems to be a bit sluggish shifting....is it safe to flush the transmission fluid?
Worth a shot. Does she want to continue to have the sluggish shifts? It might help it, but with 214K on the engine, the trans might never have had any serve done to it. Hard to say. Or do nothing, and start looking for another car.
Not helpful. In fact, a bit rude.
You need to change ATF as soon as possible! Collect old fluid during change and check it for abnormal components (small metal parts, anything like coal...), check if it smells like burned. New ATF has light red color. If you see brown or grey - it is poor. You will get serious AT damage, if continue to use improper/old ATF!
