Window problem

Question type: General

I have power windows that no longer work, is there
any way I can roll them down a few inches until I
can put it in the shop? It's hot as heck and my air
doesn't work..it's killing me

With a cable driven window regulator that your truck has it is next to impossible to move them without the cable snapping and the window dropping all the way down. You could try removing the door panel and jumper the motor, but if it is locked it won't work.

It's actually the switches that are bad, a friend actually hooked some kind of thing to the wires and put the windows down, I had him put them up again..I can no longer get in touch with him...do u by any chance know what he did so maybe I can do it?? I think it looked like a battery with small cables attached I think

Yes I know what he did but unless you know exactly what you are doing you can short out the door wiring and make a bigger problem. the switches are a relatively easy replacement, if you would like to watch some videos just go to you tube and type in your year make and model then the replacement of window switches and up it comes.
