The unfortunate part of owning a Ford truck is the front tire wear. Besides a proper alignment (4-wheel) and replacing any worn components, (Tie rods, ball joints and "A" arm bushings) rotating the tires at least twice a year is the only cure. (of course, driving habits can have a lot to do with tire wear too!) Remember that your front end Geometry will change with a load. It's likely that your front end needs some repair on a truck this old.
Have the suspension checked for worm components at a shop if you cannot determine what is worn yourself. Aligning the front end with worm components is a waste of money.
