after repairing a broken wire my 1995 ford will not stay running probably

was repairing a bad freeze plug i found a broken wire . i splice it and repaired it
and now it buckets and will not run with out me using both feet one on clutch
with foot and other milking the gas pedal

was it a single wire? Multiple? Cross them? When the wire broke, maybe it pulled out of the plug at the other end? Recheck the wire.
