why is it so hard to stop my 97 Ford F350 dually
i have a 1997 Ford F350 dually that has a 7.3 PowerStroke Diesel i have
just bought and the brakes are extremely hard to stop the truck (THE
TRUCK HAS THE BRAKE LIGHT ON) and thats why i dont drive the truck
because of the brakes...like i will have to put all my might on the brake
pedal to stop this truck
I was just wondering if its just the brakes or brake booster or idk some thing
thx for the help -cowcowcot
If the brake light is on then for sure there is a problem, the vacuum pumps are known to fail on Diesels, so that would be a place to start, if the booster is not getting any vacuum then you will almost have the stand on the brakes with both feet to get it too stop, a simple vacuum tester hooked to,the brake booster will tell if you are getting enough vacuum to make the booster work.
thx for the help ill check this 2maro
Did you just have your brakes replaced? Took mine to dealership and had brakes changed. Went to another dealer with the same problem you are having or it would lock up. Went to third dealership who re-ran all my brake lines. Finally was talking to a mechanic who I asked if he could do my axle bearings, and he said he would readjust them. Come to find out that series of dualy's has an issue with getting the brakes adjusted just right or they won't work at all. Heavy duty equipment mechanic knew this, but not three dealerships mechanics???
