64.5 Newbie with Horn question

Asked by Art Oct 09, 2018 at 04:58 PM about the 1964 Ford Mustang Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just got my dream car, a restored 64 1/2 red convertible. my problem is that
when I hit the center of the horn it just sparks. Everywhere I look the steering
wheel should have a horn ring, my wood steering wheel has no horn ring.
Where can I get info on that style horn assembly. or do I just replace the
steering wheel?

it looks like this was a GT replacement steering wheel. that does not appear to have the horn ring.

I ordered a replace wheel and horn ring OEM to take it back to where it was originally. hardest part looks to be the trip to advance auto to borrow/rent a steering wheel puller. THanks
