Knocking under valve cover?

Asked by Shaneco75 Jan 19, 2021 at 10:40 AM about the 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hydraulic lifter ticking thinking about flushing
oil then drain and replace filter oil and add
treatment hopefully stop the noise in my 2003
cavalier. I already replaced tensions on timing
chain so that is not reason for noise. Trying to
avoid having to reply lifters. Any advice would
be helpful

An oil change is cheap, so see if that helps. I personally would not spend hundreds to thousands rebuilding your engine. Start looking for a replacement.

Going to try oill flush change and treatment today will keep you posted , for the 2 people watching
