took 2004 chevy avalanche to dealer to replace instrument cluster, the minute install it blows new cluster.they have change three cluster, they cant find problem.
Without seeing the wiring diagram of the instrument cluster, there's no way to determine what is causing the failure. What part of the replacement cluster is failing? The dealership should have checked all inputs to the new units.
The likely cause is pin tension on the x1 cluster connector or the connector body is faulty. There are a million bulletins for pin tensions concerns on full size GM vehicles as they have used the same cluster/connectors for 10 years
