how do i replace drivers side seatbelt on 1997 toyota tacoma single cab pickup
By "webbing" do you mean like a frayed look? or the part of the belt (near the floor) where the belt is doubled over and sewn together is showing? if the latter and the sewing is INTACT, you have "lost" a vinyl cover piece that covered the junction and your belt should be OK. As to "release" are you talking about the retracting mechanism on the shoulder belt? those will after a time hang up and not fully retract so usually a good cleaning will correct the problem. See this UTube vid for a " how to" (its in 2 short parts) Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzkU7nujyUc Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0uQIBFV1cQ Should you belt be truly fraying and starting to come apart contact a dealer or one of the online Toyota retailers for a replacement for both the lap/shoulder side AND the buckle side of the belt, ASAP that is a dangerous -to you -condition.
