I have a 2005 checy malibu maxx. Took it in about a year ago with the power steering recall. Message just came up again the other day but there is no trouble or force needed to try and turn the car. Not sure what the issue is or why the power steering message is coming up.

Have a mechanic hook it up to their diagnostic machine to see why the fault code?

It may be something simple like low fluid. Find out what the code suggests is the problem. If it is related to the parts replaced in the recall, go back to the dealership and talk to them.
