4WD won't engage

I have a 1994 Toyota pickup deluxe, 5 speed manual, 22re engine. I lock the hubs, my
4WD drive light comes on, it shifts into 4 high and 4 low, but it won't go into 4WD. Any
ideas as to why this is happening?

Probably a bad hub. Lock it in 4x4 and have someone watch the axles when going SLOWLY. Whichever axle isn't turning is the bad hub.

They can run from $50 - $300 depending on if you only replace 1 which I wouldn't do or both and if you do it yourself. The cheapest place to buy is probably ebay.
