Nissan engine swap for 6 speed 2002 Toyota Celica?

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2002 Toyota Celica GTS. I was getting a new clutch at around
160000 miles and I happened to mention to my mechanic I wanted to
rebuild the engine at some point. He suggested buying a different engine
instead. He also mentioned that there are some Nissan 6 cylinder motors
that will fit. Anyone know about this engine swap? I use the car as daily
driver, but I like to have fun in it. Other engine swap ideas would be greatly
appreciated!

I actually had engine problems a few years back on my 02' GT and finding that engine was near impossible. Come to find out Corolla parts work perfectly. And Corolla is not only cheaper and easier to find part wise, but is not different to modify as my 1.8L GT engine was. My only wish is the engine compartment wasn't so tightly packed. Makes it hard to get to certain parts. But not so sure about Nissan. Would also think a lot of modifications would be required with Nissan parts/engine. I might do a lot of research on it first before buying one. Would be cool to know if it works though. What kind of Nissan where u thinking of hybirding it with?

Oh yeah research to the extreme. And I have no idea what Nissan could work. It was just something a mechanic just happened to mention.
