time for tune-up?
I have a 2005 Toyota Solara with 68,000 miles. I think it's time for a tune-up, but my mechanic brother says it's not. I get regular oil changes and he says that's all I need until I hit 100,000 miles. Somehow that doesn't sound right to me.
a tuneup changes sparkplug battery checks alighnment oil change and changes tires if those are fine you shouldn't need one
Your Brother is correct. Today's ignition systems have no moving parts that are subject to wear. Most manufacturers use iridium spark plugs as well. Iridium spark plugs will easily go 100,000 miles. HTH. - Jim
