Heater and A/C blower only works on high setting. What causes this? Also,
the drivers side window will go down, but only goes back up slowly and intermittently. I don't open it anymore for fear that it won't close "next time" The other power windows all work well. What would be the cause?

Blower motor speed block is probably burned out, depending on what heating system you have it could be just the standard winding type block or the more expensive solid state block. Drivers door power window motor is getting weak, as the drivers door is used more than the others it wears out sooner, you could try lubing the window tracks to help but eventually the motor will have to be replaced.

For your a/c heat issue it's probably your blower motor resister that's gone bad. The resistor determines how fast the fan goes. For your window problem I would check the window regulator. They commonly wear out.
