2005 Ave o won't start

Asked by Clownatmidnite Aug 07, 2018 at 12:16 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Aveo 5 LS Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Aveo, I was driving home one day
and pressed hard on the accelerator around a
corner, showing off to my kids like an idiot. It
revved hard and the engine cut out. Now it won't
start. It cranks when I turn the key but won't fire
up. Any ideas what could be wrong?

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? Make sure the battery has a full charge and connections all good. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. In my opinion, those checks are the basics.
