2006 Impala SS Will not turn off... with key out

If i turn the key off and remove it from the column the car keeps running.  The dash lights
and radio turn off, but the engine will not.  I've disconnected the alternator thinking it was
giving feedback but it kept running.  I then took the keys out and tried to block off the
throttlebody to flood the engine.  It did shut the car off but the car kept trying to turn over
and start itself as soon as it got air again it would keep running.  I went in the dash and
changed the settings on the remote start to disable it but the problem is still there.  at the
moment the battery is disconnected.  .....What is wrong with this thing....???????????

I found the problem. Under the steering column there is a Pink wire (Vehicle Ignition Wire) thats part of the remote start ignition harness, it came into contact with the Red/White wire (Battery Positive) from the same harness. Basically my Impala was hot-wiring itself. I separated the two wires and wrapped them in electrical tape.

Good going. Those *~€# remote starters are more trouble than they're worth.

Nice find. Lose wires and wires shorting out is a nightmare to find.

I am having the same issue where about in the area of the harness did you find the wires touching.

My dash keeps going out after about an hour.then my car cuts off.
