I have a 2001 Grand Prix, I want to use the paper clip method to get the flash code, which two positions do you use in the socket

I found info somewhere that said to use the A&B but this car has numbers.

Your 2001 has OBDII with a DTC port (Diagnostic trouble code) port, is there a reason you don't want to use that?

With the price of OBD scanners less than $100, anyone with a 10 year old car should really have one along with a set of wrenches and screwdrivers!
