2001 grand prix gt 4 door. shuts off when letting off gas and starting to brake. have to turn it over a few times 3-4. befor it will start back but runs fine no warning light

Could also be the torque convertor lockup solenoid in the transmission. Once you go over 35 mph and start to slow down, if it isn't working right, the car will stall out like you have a manual trans and forgot to put the clutch in.

found out what was causeing the car to shut off wile braking & hard starting it was the fule presser reg. $60 part 10 min to install ..thanks for the info on throttle sensor .got me headed in the right way
