will a 2000 g/p 3800 work in a 2001 bonneville?

I found a grandprix with a good 3.8 and need one for a 2001 bonneville. will this motor
work? it has the same part numbers for upper and lower intake.

The basic block is the same, you most likely will have to swap some of the componet pieces. Look it over carefully, note the location of the sensor plugs, harness location, fuel line routing etc. and closely compare the 2 that way you will know what your getting into.
