Most likely the transmission has lost overdrive and is not shifting to the highest gear. A common GM failure! Time for a transmission rebuild or a new vehicle. Being 22 years old I think a new vehicle is your best option!! Hope that helps! Jim

just get your transmission flushed and re[place the filter guarantee you its a stuck solenoid nothing major dont replace a tranny because of gear shift issues

A transmission flush is the kiss of death for an older model transmission. Especially a GM! Jim
