just changed oil in 1997 grand am, filter and plug are good, oil spewing out of back of motor, what could it be?

it appears to be coming from above the oil pan

Which motor do you have? It could be the oil sending unit. Check in at GAOwnersClub.com. Post a picture and someone will know for sure and might have DIY instructions.
