Bad knocking or clicking noise

97 grand am gt. Just replaced the starter and
battery after sitting for 8 months. Now all I get is a
very loud knocking noise or clicking noise when
trying start. I have power and the belt turns very
hard can someone please help

Insufficient voltage getting to the starter from the "new" battery. Double check your cables to make sure connections are CLEAN and TIGHT.
