Why doesnt the radio stations or clock display work?

I'm guessing that the radio works, but the display is dark? The display can be repaired but it's often less costly to just get a new or rebuilt radio. $75 to $85 on Ebay, not that hard to install yourself of you're good with ordinary hand tools.
