Asked by Travis Oct 20, 2016 at 12:00 PM about the 2001 Lincoln Town Car Signature

Question type: General

I lost my key and need a way to start the vehicle
whether its punching the ignition, hotwiring or
another method. Not sure what will work. Second
question it got into an accident and everything
engine wise is fine but it wouldnt start like its not
getting fuel. Is there a safety switch the turns off
fuel if it gets into an accident?

The safety switch is in the trunk, most likely attached to the trunk lid hinge. For a new key take the VIN # to a Ford or Lincoln dealer and see about a new one.
