How do I get the car to start?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car cranks but won't start. I have replaced the fuel pump and battery so far.I can get it to run if I run a wire from the battery directly to the fuel pump and start it. Also it will run if I spray carb cleaner directly in and turn the key. It naturally stops as asoon as the fuel sprayed runs out. When I bought the car two years ago it would not start. The battery was dead and I suspected the car was no longer recognizing the key. I had it reprogrammed and it's runj ever since.
Help Thanks

So you have ground, but IT ONLY WORKS WHEN YOU RUN A HOT WIRE FROM THE BATTERY. I'd be checking the wiring and fuses and the cut off switch in the trunk.

Thanks Jeff Apparently the fuel pump I bought was defective and it threw the switch in the trunk. I replaced the pump again and it now run fine. Thanks again.
