Battery keeps needing a jump

Asked by FrankEley Jan 28, 2014 at 08:00 PM about the 1996 Lexus LS 400 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This battery is still under warranty. I've already had to jump it 5 times. What is wrong? Can someone please help me and give me some advice.

If it is really cold where you live you will need a battery with higher cold cranking amps (cca). Take that one back and buy a good name brand battery like an interstate battery with at least 700 cca.

Check all battery connection they must be clean and tight. Also check negative battery connection on frame and motor. If that don't help have alternator tested. It should be putting out 14.5 volts to keep battery charged. If it's not replace it. If all that checks out you might have a parasitic draw issue.
