The Lexus LS is the automaker’s flagship luxury sedan. It provides a smooth ride and a comfortable, well-equipped interior. ## What’s New for the 2023 Lexus LS For 2023, the LS receives an upgraded infotainment system with quicker responses and wireless smartphone connectivity. ## Design The 2023 LS comes equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels and triple-beam LED adaptive headlights. The LS is also available in the F Sport trim, which adds 20-inch wheels and unique styling elements. ## Powertrain The Lexus LS 500 features a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine. It makes 416 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a 10-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels or available all-wheel drive (RWD or AWD). The F Sport adds upgraded brakes and an adaptive variable suspension. The RWD powertrain returns fuel economy of 18 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 22 combined. The AWD version returns 17 mpg city, 27 highway, 21 combined. The Lexus LS requires premium fuel. ## Interior The LS features a spacious cabin and a generous 17 cubic feet of trunk space, accessed via a standard hands-free smart power trunk. Other standard features include 16-way power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power moonroof, a push-button start, a power rear sunshade, leather upholstery, and active noise cancellation. An available Interior Upgrade Package adds upgraded semi-aniline leather upholstery with quilt-pattern stitching, Ultrasuede headliner, a 28-way power-adjustable and massaging driver’s seat, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. The Luxury Package adds the same 28-way driver’s seat, a remote seat adjustment for the front passenger’s seat, 18-way power-adjustable rear seats, four-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic view monitor. A Cold Weather Package is available on the LS (standard on the LS AWD) and includes headlight washers, windshield wiper de-icer, and an enhanced interior heater. ## Technology Lexus provides the 2023 LS with a fully digital instrument panel, a 12-speaker stereo, multiple USB ports, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. The LS is available with a 23-speaker Mark Levinson premium audio system, as well as a 7-inch rear-seat touchscreen. ## Safety The LS comes equipped with a host of standard safety technology, including forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, rain-sensing windshield wipers, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. It’s also available with a 360-degree parking monitor system, head-up display, and partially autonomous driving for specific highway settings. ## Pricing At the time of this writing, the 2023 Lexus LS 500 has a base MSRP of $78,535.
