i have a 99 grand cherokee with 4.0 and 42re trans that just completely stopped
working. i replaced the trans myself and while taking old one out i forgot to unplug
camshaft position sensor and broke the plug. i cut the plug off and connected the wires

those wires may be connected wrong at the plug, look at the color coding, if not that check the sensor itself, it may have shifted or broke, they work by a hall effect, magnetic end, sensing a steel lug passing during rotation by a precise gap between both. Sending signal to pcm telling position
