How costly is it to fix the front axle of a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Last night I noticed that when I put it in park, it would still roll backwards even when the emergency break was engaged. Was looking around online trying to find an answer and came across a recall. Took it to get the recall fixed today and the mechanic told me that my axle is about to come out and it is really at a dangerous point to drive. it didn't start making noise till yesterday and then the park wouldn't work. Is it expensive to fix this or should I not waste anymore money and get something else? It has 265,000 miles on it.
Axle or driveshaft? I'd get it fixed ASAP if you want to keep it.
Tom is right. Or just kiss it goodbye and move on. It's been a faithful servant but alast, perhaps it's time has come.
