Overheat

Asked by Alpharius Oct 30, 2018 at 12:39 PM about the 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 K1500 4WD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck has started to go to a point the
thermometer on the dash would go to red and then
back. I checked and there isn't leaking anywhere.
The overflow shows there is fluid, but a a milky
brown. Would a simple flush of the system and
tubes work or is there more to the problem?

If it helps I'll add pictures soon. Also after I driven it, the fluid was leaking out of the cap of my overflow. It is a old one that seems to not be pressurised

Thanks. Will do the fluid flush to see if it is the problem presists, but will have my mechanic ready.
