Keep screwing up on the question on this thing my question is if I disconnect my battery completely to change the battery before I change the PCM will it kill my PCM if the PCM isn't the problem
No, But can I ask why are you replacing the PCM?? You know they really shouldn't go bad?
My battery is gone my cells were dry and I have a warranty on it still so I want to replace first before I i do anything else...have been reading up on the ECM PCM and it says do not disconnect the positive from a power source or it could mess up my PCM...kam (memory)....the diagnostic code the showed on my odometer when I turned key on and off showed 06-00. .also read that low voltage could give that reading..... Ugh... I am overwhelmed... But thought I'd start with battery which I have had on a trickle down all day... And still no charge.... I just don't want to scree up computer...sighhhhh.
You are not in any way going to hurt the PCM just to replace the battery. The battery could be dead for months and it will not matter. Don't worry about it at all.
