Having trouble turning key to crank truck up.

Asked by Jun 15, 2014 at 08:57 AM about the 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Listening to music around 4 hours in
truck it cut off. When tried to jump
truck off and turn key. The key want
turn

1 Answer

Most of those vehicles have an electrical release for the ignition. It sounds like you killed the battery to the point that it doesn't have the voltage to release the key. You need to allow the battery charge up for while, either by jumping it for a while or charge the battery with a regular battery charger.
