Haven't had a chance to scan for code yet but my
2003 expedition just had the CEL start
flashing....What does flashing mean?

It means you have a misfire. Get it checked out soon. Probably a coil pack

    cel is intermittent. when it happens, the dashboard controls don't work (except for gas gauge). when I pull on the hand brake handle, all controls work again. any suggestions??? thanks.
