I have a 06 ford escape, its very hard starting in below zero temps I have been told it has to do with the oil getting so cold it gels... is there a an oil adative or something i can do to prevent it?

EVERYTHING starts hard when it's this cold. changing to Synthetic oil is the easiest thing you can do, or a block heater that has to be plugged in an night. I'm guessing it sits outside at night.
